must be one of my most spontaneous collaborations. The emotion in the idea that Kamakshi sent was so relatable in that moment that the words and melody poured out of me like water. To have someone to be vulnerable with is a gift and this is our ode to the warmth of feminine energy that holds, supports, nurtures, and empathises - an energy that the parched world desperately needs.

adds another layer of meaning. As BTS reunites after completing mandatory military service, the song becomes a reflection of their “present moment.” It bridges their past identity with a new chapter, symbolizing both personal and collective growth.

Their appearance on Fallon included a segment surprising fans and a lengthy studio interview with the late-night host.

It’s a great indicator of how different genres can coexist and find success, even when pitted against a global force like BTS. From my perspective, this friendly competition is what makes music charts so compelling; it’s a snapshot of what’s resonating right now.

Also interesting that I had a run of 4 (possibly) entries in a row that had both male and female vocals, but only three others ever (and it was only one other ever until this year!), it's possible I'm misremembering some though x

This cover album followed the five-year musical drought and got Imbruglia back into touring, where she traveled around Europe and the UK in 2017 and 2018. We’re currently in another quiet period, but Imbruglia has plans to release a new album this year. Can’t wait!

If you take a step back and think about it, this is a powerful reminder that the music industry isn't solely about digital streams; tangible albums still hold significant weight and can dramatically influence chart performance. It makes me wonder about the future of physical media and its role in an increasingly digital world.

Gone are the lush male/female harmonies replaced with icy, slightly computerized vocals which really brings out the wintery aspects of the song on lines like “you know the preacher like the cold, he knows I’m gonna stay.”

NCT launches 10th anniversary project 'NCT 2026' with album release, world tours, and exhibition plans

Produced by Aaron Dressler of American alternative rock band The National, At Swim has a sense of gorgeous transparency, all echoes and soft touches, subtly concocted from chiming guitars, isolated pianos, gently thumping drums, shivery guitars and looming strings, awash in website the atmospheric ambience of sacred spaces.

It also earned the biggest debut for any song on Spotify in 2026. All tracks from the album simultaneously occupied the Top 14 on global Spotify and broke the all-time record for biggest single day streams for a K-Pop album in Spotify history as well as biggest first day streams for a K-Pop album in Amazon Music history. The album also became the fastest album in history to surpass over 1 million sales on Hanteo, achieving it in less than 10 minutes. QQ Music, China’s biggest music platform, reported that the album was selling at a staggering rate of two copies per second following its release and was certified ‘3X GOLD’ on the platform within 12 minutes. The album broke the record for biggest vinyl sales week for an album by any male act in Nielsen history. It also became the first album by an Asian act to spend multiple weeks at #1 in the Billboard 200 history.

Quite satisfying that I have essentially exactly the same qualification rate with male vocals and female vocals, and a relatively even split between the two (a slight bias to female vocals because this is BJSC after all but I've had plenty of entirely male entries).
